MODEL UNITED NATIONS

Tense negotiations on nuclear disarmament

Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, or other multilateral body. In these simulations, students gather to debate current issues of global concern. The students experience the world of diplomacy and negotiation, while acting as ambassadors of UN member states. Through formal and informal debate, the students, better known as "delegates" in Model UN, prepare draft resolutions, plot strategy, negotiate with supporters and adversaries, resolve conflicts, and navigate the UN's rules of procedure - all in the interest of mobilizing "international cooperation" to resolve problems that affect almost every country on Earth.

There are many Model UNs taking place around the world, on both national and international level. Below, you will find links to some of these Model UNs.
